Progress, progress,progress!

The basement is coming along. We have some walls up and working on getting the tub and shower in.

We can't wait for a little more space and places to put things. The bathroom will be nice with 3 preteens in the house. They all seem to need the bathroom all of the time.

Rediscovery of the old toys.

From time to time I catch Cordelia Hanging out in the saucer or playing with Natalia's toys. Rediscovering why they are so fun to her. Today this was just the right spot to sit and read No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed with hand motions.

Self discovery in the mirror!

I was doing the dishes and caught Natalia looking at herself in the mirror. She stayed like that for about 10 minutes or so. I snuck off to get the camera and she was still intrigued with herself.

Hitting the slopes!

We all went to the ski hill the older kids were there on a field trip earlier in the day and the rest of us came to meet up with them. This will be Cordelia's first trip down the hill. She is very excited. She has wanted to try since last year. Here we go. I sure hope she is ready. She liked the tow rope. She chatted with me all the way up the hill every time. She wanted to go by herself but never actually got up the courage.

We needed some help in the beginning and at the end of our trip. We stayed on the bunny hill the whole night.

She can ski! It's sad to say how easy it is for her since she doesn't have far to fall. She wiped out a few times. Once she was clothes-lined by the tow rope and another time she hit a cone.

She is very proud of herself. She skied for about an hour and a half. She looks so happy now but within moments of finding out the ski hill was closing and we were going home and she burst into tears. Then she fell asleep and didn't get up until 9:30am the next day.
The other kids were there and went snowboarding for the first time. You wouldn't know it since there are no pictures. Vince happened to be the photographer with a baby strapped to his back and as you can see I was a little busy myself. Next time we will have to get photos of them. It was a good time had by all.

Playtime

Natalia and Teagan have been friends from the time they were born. They go way back. I wonder what they are thinking? Perhaps...."Remember when all we could do is just lay there and look at each other?"

Thank goodness we can sit now. It is so much more fun to be able to dig our hands in and play.

Come on Teagan you can sit a little longer. You just need to keep up so we can start cruising the house and chasing the cats. Now that's what we will call fun!

I'm on the move and there's no stopping me now!

As you can all see I am in trouble now. She can get almost anywhere she wants to go. I am going to be chasing after two before I know it. Thank goodness the other three come when they are called (most of the time). The only other thing that prevents her from getting everywhere is the step up to the kitchen. The living room and our bedroom are a step below the rest of the house. I guess that will slow her down for the time being. She shows much more determination and excitement when it is something she shouldn't have. I wonder how they learn that so quickly.

Out with the old in with the new!

This is our second hand couch finally leaving our home. This furniture had to be at least 25-30 years old. I had it for the last 10 years. The cushions were flat as pancakes even after you had been off the couch for sometime. The back of the couch had ripped and Cordelia was stashing things inside. Not to mention Cordelia's recent potty training days had gotten it as well. I was glad to see it go hide-a-bed and all. I was also glad it was not me hauling it out.
Here is our new purchase with a matching couch. We got quite the deal or should I say steal. If I could always get furniture at this price it would be awesome.

Six more weeks of winter!

Natalia discovering her shadow.

This is one of those precious moments that I love.

She enjoyed playing with her own shadow for along time.

Jadin battling ice dams! Who will win the battle?

Mom gave me the job of writing my own blog entry. I know it is a family rule that everyone helps out. This job just seemed to take quite a bit more time then I expected. It was colder, wetter, and took longer than I thought. I did like the beautiful scenery while on the roof ( just don't tell my mom that I enjoyed this job so much).I was up there for at least a couple of hours and my mom said that this will save us from roof damage. Now, don't you all think that's worth me getting my iPod back. I know I have been slacking off and getting away without helping as much as I could and my parents have been letting us all go places (ex. b-day parties, shopping, and skiing). Maybe you could all comment to help me convince her to give it back (PLEASE!). Thanks for all your help. I really did love this job! Jadin :)

I'm 7 months old!

Work, work, work: My chores are never done!

Let me tell you! My older siblings go to a birthday party and guess who gets to pick up the slack. You guessed it . . .ME. First I get a bucket of grain for the horses.

Oh boy this grain is heavy. No wonder those horses get so big eating all of this. Next, I went on to feed the dog and the cats. I won't bore you with those details. However the cats have never been so happy to see me ( I wonder why?). Now, I am off to the coop. For all of you who have been to my house, you know how far it is. I am walking in snow up to my knees. It all at once seems much farther than anticipated.

I finally made it! This is my favorite part: collecting the eggs. Just don't tell the other kids! Shhhh, I don't want them to stick me with this job all the time. I seem to be getting more eggs than them. I know why: they are afraid to move the chickens out of the nest to get all the eggs. I am not afraid of some little chicken pecks. I just stick my hand under and go for it. Now we know who the real chickens are (Jadin, Alex and Zach)!

Ahhh Ha! I brought in the most eggs ever! I think there are 18 or more. I would count them but I am afraid they will roll off the table (you know like the poor meatball).
